Materials Needed:

• Imanganation worksheet, one per student.

Detailed Explanation:

1. Post a blown up version of the original comic on the board and explain the comic. Read it with the students. Keep in mind there will be new words for them.
2. Have the JTE help explain the comic.
3. Break the students into small groups of three students.
4. Set a time limit and have them write their own comic.
5. Gather the papers after and read off a few of the best ones.

Variations and Options:

• For higher-level English students, have them work individually.
• Post the best comics on the English bulletin board.

Tips or Cautions:

• Before class, check with your JTE to ensure s/he understands the comic’s meaning.
