Materials Needed:
J-PopComparisons worksheet Teaching Suggestions:Introduce the idea of comparisons with the textbook before using the worksheet. Detailed Explanation:Introduce comparisons with your JTE.Pass out the worksheet.Go over the example and have students look at the first step where they must compare members of SMAP. Instruct the students to complete level one using the comparative and superlative page in their textbook. There should be a list in the back of the 2nd and 3rd grade textbooks (New Horizon's is on p112). Have students share their sentences in pairs or with the class. Instruct students to complete level two using the suggested musicians or their own favorite group, if it is not on the list7. Attempt (again!) to have students share variations….call on them if you must! Cautions:Students may not know all of the bands listed if they are not up to date. Feel free to add your own favorite groups or add some foreign acts to confuse them!
