Mostest Star

Submitted by: Joyce P. Le     Borrowed or inspired from: Lizzie Joy & games from TT handbook     Date added: 02-17-08

Brief Outline:  Students interview one another about Japanese pop stars using irregular comparative sentences.

Materials Needed

  • MostestStar worksheet

Teaching Suggestions:

  • Use this game for students who are interested in Japanese pop stars, otherwise it will just be another speaking/writing activity.

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Give students worksheet and ask them to think of one adjective to write on box #5.
  2. Let’s Interview: With the JTE, do a demonstration for students. ALT will ask the JTE, “Who is the most beautiful star?” and JTE will choose a Japanese pop star from the pictures. Note that during the interview, it is not necessary for students to write in complete sentences. Encourage students to practice speaking rather than dwelling over how to spell certain words.
  3. Let’s Write: Have students either use the answers they got from the interview or their own opinions and make 5 sentences.
