Brief Outline:  Students interview others to learn about their friends’ summer break activities.

• Interview worksheet (attachment below)

• N/A

Detailed Explanation:

1. Practice the question/answer structure with the students, and then demonstrate it for the class with the JTL.
2. Then, have the students interview others according to the guidelines on the worksheet – boy, girl, friend and teacher.
3. Survey the responses of the class.

Variations and Options:

• You can tweak this in any way you want. This is a basis game, build on it by making the outcome of the activity link to a follow-up like a class mini assignment/compilation.
• Collect the students’ worksheets and survey the responses. Then, as a listening exercise for the next class, read what everybody wants to do for the summer holidays. Or, if this class is the final class before the holidays, survey the responses and ask the students if they actually completed what they wanted to do.

Tips or Cautions:

• My students finished the entire sheet except the part when they had to talk to people of the opposite sex. Although it is a specified part of the activity, students may still refuse to complete that section of the assignment.
